I just have to put in a post about what a couple of fish me and Brian have. Of course, we've known for a long time that Kylee loves to swim and be in the water, but Makayla never seemed to have the same love for the water. Until recently. In the last couple of months, she's become as much of a guppy as her sister. That girl LOVES to swim! We have a pool at our apartment building and we take the girls a couple times a week, at least. Kylee is a great swimmer, and Makayla wears her little floatie swimsuit, so now we don't even have to get in the water with them! It's great, I just lounge and read my magazine....ahhh..... Ok, once in a while we (well, Brian) have had to jump in and rescue one of them, but it's been very nice over all. So, let this be a lesson to all parents who think their kids are too little to like the pool and learn how to swim! You'll probably be very surprised by what they can do, I know I've been! In fact, Makayla causes quite a stir at the pool because she just goes up to the edge and throws herself in. I think it's scared the wits out of a couple of people, but then they see her bob to the top like a little cork. We have a couple of videos of the kiddos in action, so enjoy! Ok, wait, I have to make a disclaimer on this first video of Makayla. All I'm going to say is don't be alarmed at the end, Makayla was totally fine, no harm done, in fact I kinda think it's funny we got it on tape.

School Days, School Days....
As some of you know, Kylee started pre-school last week (sniff). She's been looking forward to going to school forever, so this is going to be really great for her. She had a really fun first day. I wasn't feeling too sentimental until she said right before leaving, "Awwwww, I'm going to miss you guys today!" That put a little lump in my throat. We decided to take her to school and pick her up for her first day, instead of letting her ride the bus. When we picked her up, and she saw the other kids getting on the school bus, she got really upset that she couldn't ride the bus too, and cried the whole way home. If only she knew how much she would hate riding the bus in later years! Anyway, here's a picture of her first day of school. Before I forget, Kylee said the funniest thing the other day. As many of you know, her monkey has been her lovey since she was a baby. These days, though, the monkey acts as more of her child, and Kylee pretends to be his mom. So, the other morning, I asked Kylee why she hadn't fed her monkey some breakfast yet, and she said to me, "I'm not a chef, I'm just a mom." Yeah, I totally understand, Kylee.

Fall is here!
It is officially my favorite time of year! I look forward to fall every year after suffering through a long, hot summer. However, strangely enough, our summer this year has been really pleasant and I've been a little sad to see it over so soon. But after our little trip last weekend, it totally got me in the mood for chilly weather, hot soups, snuggly clothes, Halloween, and all that stuff. We had the chance to go to a place called Brown County State Park in Indiana, near a little town called Nashville. We camped for 2 nights in the park, which went really well considering it rained the first day and poured the first night, resulting in a little more mud than I appreciate. However, the park was absolutely BEAU-TI-FUL. I'm talking rolling, wooded hills, which were already starting to turn colors. We even went on a hayride one evening through the park, which was fun. The little town a few miles away was like something from Norman Rockwell. I think there was one stoplight in the town, and tons of little, darling shops full of antiques, crafts, everything cute you can imagine. Oh man, it was heaven. I could never spend enough time there! The weather was so perfect, just a tiny bit chilly. It was great. After we got home, Brian got all depressed and declared himself in "woods withdrawal." We're hoping to go back for a weekend in October to see the leaves in full color.
Some awesome views
On the hay ride
Our friends came up one day to see the sights with us,
this is a picture of Kylee, Makayla and Aubrey. They really weren't
as miserable as they look.
My little ragga-muffin. They were both pretty filthy by the time
we got home. And no, we don't usually give them a tub of macaroni
and cheese to chow down on.
